One lucky contractor will win a hard-working pickup in ProPickup’s Big Boss Sweepstakes

TUSCALOOSA, ALA. (September 2010) – ProPickup magazine has teamed up with Ram and leading automotive aftermarket parts manufacturers to build the ultimate work truck in its Big Boss Sweepstakes. The Big Boss, a 2010 Cummins-powered   Ram Crew Cab 4×4, will be modified over the coming months with some of the latest and greatest upgrades, enhancing this heavy-duty pickup’s performance and appearance.
ProPickup magazine is dedicated to serving our construction industry readers who use their pickups seven days a week,” says Dan Tidwell, vice president and group publisher of Randall-Reilly’s Construction Division. “They depend on their pickups to get the job done on the jobsite, then hit the road for recreational activities on the weekends.”
The Big Boss Ram will be built to meet the demands of the magazine’s hard working, hard playing audience of more than 200,000.
“Contractors in particular want more than a standard truck,” says Bruce W. Smith, ProPickup editor. “Our research shows our readers own, on average, more than eight pickups each, and are very interested in any products that improve those pickups’ performance at the job site. They want information on tires, wheels, lifts, hitches, tool boxes, cargo management, engine performance and lighting systems, as well as reviews on the newest trucks coming to market.  Our magazine and web site provides all that information – and a lot more.”
Smith says the Big Boss will receive dozens of upgrades, each of which adds its overall performance in a work environment where contractors, construction workers and professional landscapers depend on their pickups day in and day out to get the job done.
The Big Boss Road Tour begins with the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas later this month; the truck will make a special appearance at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association Show in November, and will complete its tour at ConExpo in March 2011 inside the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center.  A winner will be selected from all entries on April 15, 2011.
